About a month ago, my wife was digging through the appropriately nicknamed "Black Hole" in her parent's house to see if there was anything of value before the junk haulers get called. She stumbled upon a box with old baseballs rattling around in it. As near as we can tell, from conversations with her uncle, these probably originated with her great-grandfather and were passed through the family of NY Giants fans.
Among the lot are:
Pictures are in the linked PDF. I'm completely new to sports memorabilia. We're planning to hang onto these given their tie to the family, but I'm planning to get them authenticated. Do the balls all look legit? If there are any signatures you can recognize on Giants ball, I'd like to hear it. The thing is in pretty bad shape. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7...lRTa0JnZ19Ydms |

Wow those are beautiful. All look good to me.
No sense getting the Giants ball authenticated. The process of authentication would cost as much as the ball is worth. Definitely worthwhile on the tour ball and most especially the Gehrig single. Stunning and beautiful. Tom C |

I concur with Tom, all look legit, and the Gehrig single and 31' Japan balls are AWESOME. As for the Giants baseball, I can make out the following sigs:
Larry Benton (sweet spot) Roger Bresnahan (sweet spot) Andy Reese Melvin Ott Bob O' Farrel Jack Scott Russ Wrightstone Jack Cummings Carl Mays Frank Lefty O' Doul |

Actually I take back what I said regarding the value of the Giants ball. The Bresnahan signature gives it a fair amount of value. The Ott as well but I missed it...is it very faded?
Still not worth authenticating though. Noone will fake that ball and if you ever sell it auction houses can get it graded for half what you can. Tom C |

Thank you for your help, gents. I appreciate your good eyes and advice.
I can't find the Ott signature for the life of me, if its there its probably one of the more faded ones. |

I believe it is below the Spalding stamp directly below the Andy Reese...quite faded, but I am pretty sure I see the "Melvin."
