Has anyone else collected these ? They were not and are not very popular because they do not picture real players or even real team logos. I suppose a licensing issue. They were marketed, I presume on a test basis, in white test wrappers ( in two versions, see below). They were packaged in with a Topps rub off game card. The ones packaged were cloth, but they can also be found in cardboard. I put the set together in bot cloth and cardboard and also an uncut set on cardboard.
At some point I ended up with one of them that is not listed in the SCD Standard Catalog. Not sure about Beckett ( Rich ?). It is pictured below, Detroit/Texas. I does not appear on the uncut sheet but looks legit to me. Anyone else have one ? ![]() ![]() ![]() |
