Default OT: Book Giveaway
I made this offer a few weeks ago and I ended up sending half a dozen free books to members. Can send about 3 more now, so again: I'll send free copy of my new book "The Tunnels" from Crown, optioned for a movie with Paul Greengrass directing, to first three who respond (and will ACTUALLY read it, or at least start it, and maybe recommend to others). Probably the only baseball reference in the book: On the afternoon the Berlin Wall started going up, a Sunday, Secretary of State Dean Rusk (under orders from JFK) cautioned U.S. officials to not promise to do anything about it, as we were ambivalent about whether this was such a bad thing--then left for a Washington Senators game. I got my book on Friday as well. It is a very interesting read. Since cycling is another hobby of mine, I love how Harry Seidel is mentioned in your book. Just further proof that cyclists are determined, stubborn, opinionated, with a little bit craziness thrown into the mix. 🚵😎
I think this book would make for an interesting movie.

All of two days and book already received...thanks Greg! I am currently reading a novel with a backdrop of the Bay of Pigs invasion and JFK assassination, so this book (which jumped next in my reading line) should continue the Cold War atmosphere in my brainpan.
