Hi-
I had a very fruitful day antique shopping this past Friday. I picked up a circa 1920 glove, a couple of bat pens, and a 1963 Post/Jello album (no cards but in nice shape). My favorite pickup is pictured below. I believe it is a 19th century bat although there is no label. It is 42 inches long! It was in a fairly large, multi dealer, antique shop and the dealer also had a Mickey Mantle bat described as a gamer (it wasn't as it had MM4 on the knob and Special on the barrel). I did have to pay a bit for it (150.00) but I was quite happy to get it. I have never had a bat this big that was actually used (I had a huge store display bat that was much bigger but obviously never used). I really enjoy antique shopping! Please post other examples of long early bats. Thanks, Alan |

Congrats!
That bat is a great pick up and well worth the $150.00. Enjoy! Brent |
