Default Boston Garter countertop display box/case

This is a freshly picked barn find from a recent trip to Maine. It has some flaws - minor chipping of the finish along the bottom edges, sliver of missing wood from the backside of the top lid, and missing front glass - but all are fairly easy fixes if you have some woodworking knowledge. The case displays nicely as-is too. If you prefer an untouched surface, you can leave it as-is. It works just fine despite the flaws.

The base wood appears to be birch, or similar soft wood, with a mahogany tinted top coat. The finish isn't very thick and you could built up a matching surface with a few coats of gel stain. Fortunately, none of the chipping issues are near the gold Boston Garter decals. I haven't attempted to add or remove any of the finish. It is in as-found condition with the exception of a light cleaning. The Boston Garter decals are gold colored, though they appear greenish in the photos.

As mentioned, the top is missing a small piece on the back edge where the hinge connects. This could be fixed, or you can display the box open or closed as-is. All of the hardware for the lid is present (including the screws where the split occurred) and the top will balance on the disconnected hinge. It is very stable in this position.

The front glass could be replaced at most hardware stores.

If you're not familiar with these cases, they have two interior compartments. The smaller front compartment behind the glass was the showcase, and the larger compartment behind the divider was for holding additional inventory. The footprint is 13.5" wide by 10" deep and stands 7.5" tall.

The best example I could find was in Lelands fall 2013 auction. That case was in great condition and sold for $778, but it was missing the interior divider.

Here's a link to the Lelands sale.

I'm looking to sell mine for $350 $275 shipped within the US. If you'd like to make an offer, please feel free to do so.

Thank you.

Asking price dropped to $275 with US shipping paid by me. Or, submit your offer. I'm not easily offended
