Hello all,
I won a 3,000 ticket stub lot from a recent auction and now I am hooked on collecting tickets! I am really looking for a Craig Biggio 3000 hit ticket, but I also need an Aaron, Mays, Kaline, and a Clemente 3000 hit ticket. Thanks! |

You can also try ChicagoTix.com. They often have some toughies but prices can be a bit high (not always though).

Thank you for the link! He does have a couple of Clemente tickets, but I also just spent about an hour reading through his comments & article links.

You should be able to find Biggio on Ebay. Nothing there right now, but I got one right after he got his hit. You didn't mention Brock. If you don't have him, his will also be tough. As I found out during my search, the Cardinals reused undated tickets for entrance to games, including the Brock's 3000 hit game, so there are tickets but they're not marked. Not all tickets were like that, but not many in the hobby.

Luckily I have the Brock already. I have been looking on eBay for a couple of months now, and of course the only one I have seen sold last week when I was out of town

In an era when, on any given day, you can find any of the modern (last 30 years) 3000 hit tickets on ebay, it's weird that the Biggio ticket has dried up a little. I've been putting off getting the ARod ticket (just cant stand the guy) but this tread has inspired me to go ahead an get it.

The year that Biggio got his 3,000th hit, the Astros had very few season ticket holders, thus not many season tickets ever turn up for this game. Lack of producing a winning team will do that. The Cubs are really the loan exception to this rule... BTW, Cubs fans have to be pumped with what is going on with their team in the last couple of years. IMHO getting Joe Madden as their skipper helped gel a group of excellent players to create a real team. Kudos to Theo Epstein and his team of advanced scouts as well. They seem to have done a terrific job of getting some high quality talent. |

Hey Scott,
Yeah, Madden was a great hire. Truly one of the best, if not the best managers of today's ballplayers. I didn't realize there were so few season tickets for the Astros back then, but it makes sense. They were pretty bad after having several pretty good teams. Padres kind of went down that same road, but never came back. LOL Hey, how about Ichiro. Getting a chance to play and hitting!! Needs something like 37 more hits. Could end up doing it this year after all. That would be cool. |

Ichiro getting 3,000 hits in the ML is awesome. He's definitely one of the most unusual talents to ever play the game.

I don't think the Marlins issued season tickets this year. I wonder how many tickets will be available from the box office if Ichiro gets #3000 at a Marlins home game.

Greg, Will you be displaying your tickets individually or framing them together. Either way can be very nice. I believe I'll be putting my in one frame/matt much like some that have been shown on here in the past.

My 3,000 hit tickets are a mix of graded and ungraded tickets so at the moment they are stored with the rest of my collection. I figure I would wait until Ichiro gets 3,000 to see if I can pick up one of the more expensive tickets.
I can't decide whether to suck it up and grade the tickets or to crack out the others. The Rose and Brock are smaller so I will probably leave them grades regardless. I have also been picking up newspapers of the days the players hit #3,000, and was going to display individualy with a photo and the newspaper. After seeing some of then beautiful group displays I am back on the fence on how to display them. |
