Does your Tenney have a broken Y ?

I checked 232 and found 12 with a broken Y all of these were different
examples but of the 220 that didn't have it I'm sure some of them are repeat
sales.

These are the examples I found

10 Piedmont 150's
1 Piedmont ?

Mine is currently consigned, and does have the broken Y (piedmont 150) back. never noticed it...

Yes, a large percent were from the 150 series.

The "Broken" Y Tenney would have been in a specific spot on the sheet and
may never have been fixed but the rest of the Tenney's on the sheet would
have had the full Y.

Exactly. One spot would have had either a flawed transfer or the transfer didn't get laid down properly.

12/220 is an interesting split. Seeing it with the 220 split by series would be pretty interesting. Assuming even distribution between 150's and 350s that would make the broken Y about 1 in every 9 cards. A clue about how many of a particular card were on a sheet.

That's pretty interesting. What I've found with the one really tough card I've checked scans of is about 8 different identifiable types. Which matches nicely with the 85/10 split for P150. The sample size is a bit small but that's encouraging.

That there's only one SC150 when 8:1 would seem to say 6 or 7 is also interesting. I'd need more to feel really comfortable with it, but I think it points towards the sheets being different for different brands. Do you happen to know what factory the SC is? I'll go out on a limb and guess it's a factory25.

I'm thinking either the problem was fixed during printing the SCs, or maybe the single SC is from P150 leftovers used for some SC 150's.

I had some reasoning that made me think it might be a 25, which I'll have to rethink. I have a feeling that the SC broken y will remain a one only for a while.

I found a Sweet Caporal 150 Factory 25 with the damage to the Y.
This is the first re-occurring flaw on a a SC/25 and SC/30 in either
the 150 or 350 series that I can recall.

Mine is a Sweet Caporal, 150, Factory 30, District 24. No broken "Y". I find it fascinating how there are so many variations, regardless of how small, still being discovered after 105 - 107 years. That just adds to the appeal of the T206 set for me. Great discovery and thanks for sharing.
