Don't know that much about the 1949 Leaf set, but I picked up a 2nd Kiner and noticed it was very different from the one I already owned.
It obviously isn't due to fading, so is there known variations in that set? If so, is any more scarce than any other? Thanks for the knowledge. Rob

Before I stopped collecting them I noticed an almost unending amount of color and misprint variations. I think the set is pretty notorious for it.

Yep, loads of varieties if you're into them.
The pink ink vs red is one, as are light/dark blue and probably a few others. There's differences in the shading on some. And differences in the overall backgrounds where stuff is near the edges. Like how there's a line over the bat on the pink one but not the red. I'm not sure anyone has really made a list or studied them in any depth to figure out if some are tougher. Ted Z I think had some thoughts on pink vs red and which was tougher, but I'm not sure. Steve B |
