I keep finding this thing when I search for 1935 Goudeys:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-000-Joe-Di...item43db6a85e3 What kind of fly-by-night grading company misidentifies that thing as a '35? Doesn't every grade schooler who's interested in baseball know that Joe DiMaggio was playing in San Francisco in 1934-35? I see questionable listings from this guy every few weeks but this so-called $1,000 printing plate is probably the worst. |

He says he uses "graded values", not book values. If you're not sure what that means, he directs you to his eBay profile page, where there is this explanation:
"Graded cards are so much more valuable than just a plain card coming from a pack. My pic shows examples. 1970 Pete Rose in Beckett values at $60, but graded it jumped to $5,676. All of my cards are labeled with graded values not book values." All righty, then! Last edited by trdcrdkid; 04-29-2015 at 11:13 PM. |

He has a few of these crap -I mean printing plates- and the Mantle and Jackie plates have bids on them.

That seller is maximizing his profits. The ones he does sell, he gets more than he should.

I did a thread on this seller and the Derek Jeter forgery he sold.

Of course graded cards are worth more, duh!
Someone paid someone else to grade their cards so they have to recoup the cost, right? I think it all makes complete sense... to the voices in this seller's head maybe

Even if the signature was legit (and I'm no autograph expert), it's not a 'Certified' card because that would mean it was one of the pack-inserted ones. At best, it's simply a Jeter autograph on a standard-issue card.
