Help with vintage baseball jersey?
At the flea market today, I found this really old(?) MAINE baseball jersey. I couldn't resist, so I picked it up.
I have never bought any old jerseys before, so I don't know anything at all about them. Is it rare? What time period is it from? I think it is made of wool or something like that. I presume it is real, based on the wear (I think there are a few moth holes at the bottom), but I really don't know. I found a photo of the UMaine 1938 team, and they look like they are wearing a similar jersey, so I think maybe it is from around then? Any help with time period, etc. would be great. Also, I placed it in a jersey frame on the wall; is there any special care for old jerseys? Thanks, Sean
