The back of this snapshot is signed. I checked with the Hack Wilson signatures on line and it doesn't appear close. I can't make out the first name noted there, but xxxx Ralph Brooking doesn't appear to be anyone famous.
I'm assuming it is just signed by a previous owner of the photo, but if anyone has other thoughts, that would be great. ![]() ![]()

Maybe the photographer, sending Wilson the photo?
Nice image, by the way.

It says Annalee Ralph Brooking. Perhaps a female admirer who took the photo and wanted to give him a copy? A baseball Annie/Anna?

Probably a fan -
Anna Lee Ralph married Vivian Leon Brooking on Feb. 15, 1909 in Chicago. He was a violinist with an orchestra. They had two children, then divorced. She moved to Los Angeles with her son Robert and died in 1968. Any idea where this photo came from? She may have signed it and sent it to Hack, written on the back and given it to a friend, or maybe just kept it in her own collection. |
