its seems as though whenever I think of the e90 Joe Jackson, I always picture it with the "red moustache" but when I just saw this auction no red moustache , it got me thinking, how rare is this variation? One day I would love to be able to pick one of these up and kick myself everyday for not picking one up a few years ago for around $5k for a nice one.

I believe the "red mustache" is just bad registration.

My experience is like everyone else's, I have seen most of them have poor registration with the lips being a mustache. If I were going to get one it would probably have to have the lips in the correct spot.

I have been tracking these for a couple of years now and I would say maybe 1 out of every 10 have good registration. The red really likes to slide up the lip into the nose. It's a shame because if they would have put the kabosh on the red to begin with, the card would probably be more attractive.
