Notorious non-signer... Got this signed TTM in May of 2012, he passed away January 23, 2014. I just listed it on eBay with a starting bid of $14.99: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Charles...:L:LCA:US:1123

Friendly Bump... Less than 24 hours in the auction! Currently less than $30 on a ball that's probably close to $500

Just curious, how did you convince him to sign this TTM for you? He was next to impossible I thought.

dgo71, to answer your question... The latter is true, but he started to sign a little bit towards the end of his life. Jim Stinson can confirm as he talked to a relative. Giovanni I believe was able to get him TTM at that time too. Osgood signed briefly TTM, maybe for a month or so, before going back into his autograph hiding. I have two young boys (now 4 & 3) and this was at the time I wanted to start their autograph collections TTM and decided to write a lot of the older ball players that were still living. A lot of the address research was done on my own and I found Osgood's address in WhitePages.com. When I went back to compare to a lot of the sports address lists, many omitted his apartment number so that may have contributed to some of the failures as well. It literally took me a week to get some index cards and my ball back signed by him. Yes, I was very surprised. A friend of mine tried him a couple weeks later and never received anything back. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any questions you may have! Thanks, Matt |

Didn't sell for what I was hoping for, but glad one of the Net54 guys got a good deal!

I am really surprised it didn't sell for more. I also obtained a single signed baseball through the mail but don't think there can be to many out there.

Yes mine is sweat spot, but regardless, i remember a time seeing a return receipt signed by Osgood for sale for a over a thousand. The only way any one was able to get him, was to trick him to sign.
