As I have have been building my HOF set.I have looked at cards from this set to ise as a fillerfor some of the more expensive pre-war players but didnt pull yhe trigger on any untilthes Walter Johnson went for ony $9.
![]() I am curios what opinions others have about this set. I have always treated it as somewhatequivelent to the 60 and 61 Fleer sets that also feature a large number of HOF players from the pre-war years. |

I personally am of two minds about it. On the one hand the price is most certainly right for cards of that age and player selection. However, and I'm probably in the minority, I find the majority of the drawings to be grotesque. I use that word intentionally because many of the players literally look like nightmare monsters to me including DiMaggio and ruth which are just god awful. Johnson is one of the ones I find to be fine.
