SOLD: FS: E90-1 'Starter Set' 40/120 w/ 11 HOFers
One-Third of the set, please adore or ignore the holes. That's how I received them approx 45 years ago from Goodwin (that's Goldfadden [RIP at 94 just a few years ago], not the AH).
Deep rich colors, measure how they were given ... well, sold, to me. Historians delight.
No charge on the trimmed Hartzell with no hole. I think it got in there because Goodie lumped Caramels together (he IDed cards from their backs, not their fronts, even Topps!). Same bunch that included the E93 Wagz I sold recently. And, you get the Upp -- his sole baseball card and a very toughie to get at a fair price unless you have a friend, or a friend with an acquaintance who has a conscience.
Mystery of the Holes: Still to be solved. There are no pinholes, as if they were tacked to a plank (a piece of wood, not the player). I am including a representative scan of the backs. Looks to me that folks were aiming where the bats crossed at the middle, or at the catcher mitt. Still, the mystery remains: How were the cards affixed? William Tell or William Burroughs?
Please, no PM cherry pickers.
$SOLD delivery included. Check or MO. Canadians add a few elk. Int'l, I will accommodate.
