DiMaggio lithograph opinion

I think I may have made another bad decision after some research. Considering it has a Yankee Clipper Enterprises sticker on it and this series is out of 444 and there are other series of the same lithograph that have more numbers. I certainly appreciate the expertise in this group. I know you all will shoot me straight. Is this a forgery? Is the Yankee Clipper Enterprises related to the J. Dimaggio Company?

Perfect! I feel much better. I appreciate the feedback. One last question: I’ve never seen lithographs have more than one series. The piece I have is out of 444. There’s currently another DiMaggio for auction out of more than a thousand. Is this particular piece known to have multiple series?

Most artists do a couple of different types. Lithographs and Giclée's. They can both be the same "picture" but on a different medium and both numbered limited editions. The Giclée's usually fetch more money. That would be my guess.

I just did a quick google search, and there appears to be at least two different editions of this litho. One (yours) numbered to 444 that Joe signed with "Yankee Clipper", and another one numbered to 1,000, that he signed with "#5".

Another difference between the two editions is the placement of the signatures. On the one #'d to 444, Joe signed on the right and RS Simon signed on the left. On the litho #'d to 1,000, Joe signed on the left, and Simon signed on the right.

I just found where they also did an Artist Proof edition numbered to 56. These were signed as were the ones #d to 444.

That means there were a total of 1,500 lithos issued across the three different series.
