What an incredible man. The world is a sadder place with his passing.

Very sad to hear that Lou passed away Tuesday....while never having met him in person, I had the opportunity to speak with him multiple times while coordinating a book signing we planned together at a book store that I managed. He was the subject of the book "The Corporal was a Pitcher" by Ira Berkow.
Lou himself reached out to me and expressed interest in coming to the store I managed and signing Ira's book. Even though I was on vacation the day he signed and missed meeting him in person, Lou still took the time to sign a copy of Ira's book for me and sent me a thank you note for the privilege of letting him come and sign(actually it was much more of a privilege for both my staff and the customers to meet him personally). While I never did get to meet Lou in person, my dealings with him solidified my feelings about his strong character. |

A great comeback story from an obviously great man. Thanks for inspiring us through the way you lived your life Lou Brissie!

I was not aware of him, but he sounded like a really great (and interesting) man.
We're losing our connection to the past a little more every day, and I for one am greatly saddened. ![]()
