In last night's session of the Legendary Auction, the 1870 Athletics CdV sold for less than $2000. with the BP. This particular result was almost certainly impacted by the article by Peter Nash on the Hauls of Shame site. This low price is not an isolated incident, though. Once a prized addition to any collection, sale prices have been in the $3-$4 K range in recent years for this CdV, while prices for other baseball CdVs have risen, some substantially. How can this CdV that displays a significant team sell for virtually what an anonymous team would sell for. I'm puzzled.
