My name is Michael. I have just signed up on this site to help in my start of a collection of baseball cards from the pre-war era. I have gotten some pointers from a pre-war collector but, my knowledge is still limited on the topic. I hope that this site will provide me better insight into the realm of card collecting.
My current collection is mostly filled with Dodgers from the 70s to now. I am looking to add some old school Brooklyn cards that will fit nicely into my collection. I will probably get my feet wet by trying to purchase some low grade 1910-11 cards. I will stick to the lower/cheaper end, at least until I get a better gauge on cards from this era. Any helpful tips or pointers for a rookie, will be much appreciated. I am glad to be apart of this forum. |

Spend some time doing some searches and reading this board. There is tons and tons of information on all aspects of vintage collecting, from getting started to very advanced. And the one big thing to know is to take it slow and easy. It's a marathon not a sprint. Happy collecting and welcome aboard.

Affordable sets like strip cards are nice and won't cost too much. I collect W572 cards and really like the black and white pictures. These cards are the size of tobacco cards but have the the pics of the 20's candy cards. Check them out. They also have some Brooklyn dodgers in the group.
