I am mostly a Topps and Fleer set collector but bought a few packs of Leaf cards when a kid and so finally decided to complete that set. There are 3 variations to it. Card 25 can be found with either a photo of Brooks Lawrence or Jim Grant, but both identified as Grant. And Hal Smith's card 58 can be found with 3 different backs ( team name present, omitted or blotted out).
Fleer packaged the cards with Marbles to avoid the Topps player contracts which generally allowed them the exclusive right to package a player's image with either gum or candy ( also the reason for the 1963 Fleer cookies). The packs are series from one and two ![]() ![]() |
