As a youngster, I remember this trade and at the time was the tallest trade, 1 for 1, in baseball history. I am talking about the players height, total feet and inches.
a couple of hints. I am not sure the total of 13 feet and 3 inches still stands or not, but it stood for many a year. Just some insignificate bullshhhhh to know. ANSWER: Removed, posed question on another site, contact me on PM if you want answer. I read an old thread about nicknames as a reason to collect certain cards, loved the thread, should try and get as many for each era as possible. Here are couple off the top of my head, from latter 50s and early 60s, Clint "scrap iron" Courtney, catcher, and Earl "Torgy" Torgeson, 1B, or Eddie "the walking stick" Yost 3B. Charlie "Paw Paw" Maxwell Red Wilson C, was his real name Red? Gentleman Jim Rivera, of and who remembers Coot Veal, ss (1 career HR) and I was at the game for it. An important card to me, but you never know what card(s) someone is searching for. billyb Last edited by billyb; 02-27-2013 at 10:54 AM. |
