hello all,
i just dropped a chunk of change at the national on a beautiful EX/NM 1929 world series program (chicago version). as with all sports memoribilia and cards that i purchase, i always carry a bit of skepticism/paranoia about the authenticity of any item. but for cards, there's plenty of info available both through general internet searches and through this forum on how to spot fakes... but its very difficult to find info on how to spot fake WS programs (i searched the archives here and didn't find anything). my '29 program passes my sniff test (it smells musty and old)... and i'm aware of the Robert Opie reprints that are all clearly labeled as such on the back... but past that i am hoping to start a thread were we can share techniques on how to spot fake WS programs. |
