I paid $384. I'v never had an auto from him. Just wondering if I overpaid for it or if I got a good deal. It is personalized on the side of the baseball. Thank you.

A little bit of a problem:
"In addition to the signature, the ball carries the following message: To Betty Cleve - 0 Det - 4 August 9, 1954 Home Run Ball" The only problem is the date falls on a travel day and is one day prior to the 4-0 win. I guess in the dog days of August, the pitching coach can get a little disoriented. Or maybe it was Betty who made him loopy. Anyway, the HR was by Wayne Belardi, his 11th of the year, in the 4th inning off of Early Wynn. http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...95408100.shtml

The last confirmed sale of a ball like this is $384.00. That would be the current market value.

Seems high to me for a common player's signature with personalization on a rough conditioned ball even though Rowe died early and was on a lot of popular Tigers teams. You were also bidding against one other person in a correctly listed auction so the interest doesn't seem to be there from a resale perspective.

Rowe sells on album pages for around $50-$75.00, GPC's $75.00-$100. A signed 8x10 might fetch $150.00-$200.00. He was a popular player , died young I'd say you did well at what you paid. I've never seen him on a single signed ball

I would also think that it being a gameused ball and a homerun ball would increase the value, would it not? Kind of makes it a historical artifact.
