Default FS: 1910 Orange Borders Tigers team card (new price)

For sale are the two team cards from the 1910 Orange Borders set: the 1909 National League Champions (Pittsburgh Pirates) and the 1909 American League Champions (Detroit Tigers). The Pirates card includes Honus Wagner, the Tigers card Ty Cobb.

The images below were scanned at 200 dpi in order to provide detailed looks. I've researched images (and prices) of other examples of these two cards on VCP and on auction houses' websites, and I think it's accurate to say that these examples are among the nicest you'll see. The orange borders are bright -- more vivid than the scans reflect -- and the cuts of the cards are far above average. The only legitimate faults I see are the glue spot on the reverse of the Pirates card (which doesn't impact the front) and the scuff mark on one of the player's faces on that card.

OK, enough blathering. Prices are $xxx for the AL Champions and $xxx for the NL Champions. (The NL Champions card has been sold.) Those of you familiar with my B/S/T listings might have noticed that I'm not big on starting at a ridiculous price and then bumping the listing with a price reduction every 24 hours.

I've been told by two people who I respect and who know more about the Orange Borders set than I do that my initial price on the Detroit card was high. Fair enough. Bad job by me putting too much importance on VCP. New price for the Detroit card is $400 delivered.

Because these prices are extremely reasonable and not padded, I'd prefer payment by check or money order. I will not accept a PayPal "gift" payment. I'll cover shipping and insurance.

Any questions, feel free to email me at wolfie51sb at aol.com

Thanks,

Rob
