My father attended this game at the LA Coliseum in 1959 to honor Roy Camapanella. 90,000.00 fans held up their lighters when the lights went off to honor the great dodger catcher

great Campy Ticket Stub. My Grandparents attended that night and I have cherished them since the 70's. They are box Tickets with a $3.50 price point. My Grandparents must have been loaded!

I've recently picked up an interest in the 1974 Dodgers team. I obtained the videos of Games 1,2 and 3 of the '74 Series. A couple of months back I picked up an autographed Dodgers '74 team ball. When I purchased the ball, it had 23 autographs. I've since obtained 4 additional signatures (not shown in photos) with plans for a couple of more this weekend at the Stadium.

If Jimmy's going with Koufax, then so am I!!
The first painting depicts Koufax before throwing the last pitch of his no-hitter against the Phillies in 1964. Pinch-hitter Bobby Wine would strike out on four pitches to end the game. Also in the frame is Dodger Willie Davis in center field, who only handled one fly ball the entire evening. The second image is the moment after Koufax struck out Bob Allison to end the seventh game of the 1965 World Series, with the Dodgers overcoming the Jim Kaat and the mighty Twins for the title. The scoreboard in right thanks the Twins faithful for being the "greatest fans in the world", as the boys in Dodger blue file into the dugout and clubhouse without the fanfare we've all become accustomed to. ![]() ![]()

Wow... what a thread! Something tells me this one will go forever. I have way too many to photograph/post, but will throw up a few items which I've already saved to this computer.
Here are some Pennants.... The Batter pennant is modeled after Ruth (and dates to the mid-1930s period in which he joined Brooklyn). Interestingly, there was a Yankees Pennant with the same exact graphic (formerly in REA). The Jackie Robinson is an extremely rare variation The 1952 Scroll Pennant is a somewhat rare phantom.... |

Seeing that pose above of Pee Wee Reese makes me wonder if any of the old time ballplayers ever got injured posing for photos. Pee Wee has a lot of great "posed" action shots, his 1953 Bowman being the most famous. Notice how you never see "posed" action shots any more ...

The last NY Giants - Brooklyn Dodgers game in NYC was played at the Polo Grounds on Sept 8,1957. Here is my stub to that game. I was there and the Giants won the game 3-2.

WOW ! That Junior Gilliam ring is simply incredible! Jim Gilliam IMO was one of the most underrated players in Baseball history. Whether batting leadoff or in the number two spot, Junior was the consummate teammate. He had a keen eye and a knack for doing the right thing at the right time on the field, in the batters box, on the bases, in the dugout or the clubhouse.
A few quotes about him... "What a great team player he was. He'd hit behind Maury, take pitch after pitch after pitch. And when Maury got to second, he'd give himself up by hitting the ball to the right side, even with two strikes, which most hitters won't do." - teammate Jeff Torborg, describing Gilliam as the ideal #2 hitter. "He didn't hit with power, he had no arm, and he couldn't run. But he did the little things to win ballgames. He never griped or complained. He was one of the most unselfish ballplayers I know." - manager Walter Alston "Father, friend, and locker room inspiration that will never be forgotten." - Davey Lopes, Dodgers second baseman from 1972-81 |

This is a two sided print of Roy Campanella and Elwin (Preacher) Roe. Does anyone know anything about this print and where it came from? It measures 7 1x2" by 4 3x4" and doesn't look like it is out of a book. Thanks D.

I'm about 99% sure those back-to-back pics are out of the 1952 Dell Annual Baseball Facts & Figures book w/ the Stan Musial cover.
I sold my 1950-51- & 52 issues about a yr ago and I recognized them immediately. Here is a listing for the issue w/ your 1951 pic. Each issue had 8-12 B&W pics of the previous yrs Stars & Award Winners. http://cgi.ebay.com/1952-Dell-Major-...d=p3286.c0.m14
