I'm in the process of buying a 1953 World Series ticket stub Yankees @ Brooklyn. My Question is: The ticket has no gate Number on it. All the tickets I've seen in the past have a gate number on it. This one does not it Says" STANDING ROOM"
Is this a regular ticket. I think it's the lowest priced ticket available for the game. The ticket on the left has gate Number, Ticket on the right(Ticket looking to purchase)Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks is advance. Is $75 a good price for it Mike Last edited by brookdodger55; 04-07-2012 at 07:24 AM. |

I am not a ticket expert but perhaps because it was a standing room ticket that meant you could enter at any gate because standing room was scattered throughout the stadium.
The only other explanation would be was that it was a proof ticket but I think that explanation is negated by the handwritten score penciled in on the stub.

The 1953 looks good to me. Dealt with the dealer before also...no prob.
On those other tickets, the gibson has recently sold for 99 and 140, and the earthquake game for 30. |

Richard is correct. On many standing room tickets, a specific gate is not printed on the stub.
Here's some other examples ![]() ![]() |

All the answers posted are right on... FYI a proof ticket (no seat numbers) which typically remains in a full will NOT have a four digit number like the 1957, 1952, and 1953 have present. If any other members have questions about world series tickets feel free to post... I will try to answer them, I have been collecting world series ticket for 10+ years.
