Was considering starting one of these two monsters. Both are insanely difficult, will take forever to complete, thoroughly expensive...etc..etc..etc..
Just thought I'd see if anyone was already working on these and/or had experiences to share. Thanks in advance... |

Uh...no! As a type collector...I have one of each! It seems you'd have an easier time with T211's these days as I've hardly seen any e97 b/w's last year or so!
Pretty sure Bob has been working on e97 b/w's for a while...I'm guessing he's made good progress...but s you say...definitely long term endeavors! |

Brian- Pete's right, I am still trying to complete the E97 black and white set but I am stalled at about 2/3 of the set. There are some particularly tough ones to find in the last 1/3, at least for me. You just don't see many Keelers or Sullivans or Youngs around. I keep thinking that eventually a group will open up and someone will offer 6 or 7. That's my hope at least

Brian,
Now or very soon is the time to buy T211's as I believe most have finished their subsets (Including me) and a few set collector's are practically done as well. I don't see much demand at the moment, and supply is increasing (not many, but certainly more than usual). One side note is I have not seen prices come down to meet increasing supply with exception to a few auctions. A bit strange, but then again, perhaps folks are willing to hang onto them until they get their price !? They are very scarce to rare cards...

I'm working on a T211 set...slowly. Would love to trade for any cards in ANY condition.

I love the T211's and I am working - very slowly - on all of the Louisiana issues. It does seems that T211's are more available than T213-1 and T213-3. There are some T216's around, and plenty of T213-2's. It also seems that T211's are available in higher grades (PSA 2 and 3) than some of the other Louisiana issues, which aren't readily available except in poor condition. This is just my observation and I haven't checked any pop reports.
