Hi, I need help identifying a card in my type set. Image is below. It's about 1 3/4" tall and 1" wide and feels like it's printed on bamboo. Also, I'm putting together a website to show off my type set - it's modest as of yet and I'm still adding my cards, but here's the link: http://www.stevestypeset.com - comments appreciated.

That is a card from inside a baseball punch board from the 1940s. The set uses images from the 1939-46 Exhibit Salutations. It is listed in the Standard Catalog under Diamond Dust Punchboard Cards. While the cards are very difficult to find, the Camilli is a 'common'; not a short print. The SP cards were the prize winners. The card was printed on ribbed paper because it was originally rolled up inside the punch board. Here is the DiMaggio SP from my web site's sale page:

That looks to me like a 1930s punch board card. If you google that phrase, several similar pics come up in google images.

Man, those are neat looking cards - does anyone else have other examples?

Like Adam said they are fairly tough and some like his DiMaggio are rare
listed as 1940 Diamond Dust Punchboard Cards in the SCD Ive had about 15-20 over the years.... and still cant pinpoint the exact punchboard they came from about 1/2 the cards known (15/33) were short printed and were $1 winners, and would have then been destroyed when redeemed, making them even more rare. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by fkw; 03-13-2012 at 02:21 PM. |

Thank you very much for identifying the set. I'm curious - does anybody know what the numbers on the back indicate?
