Hello, all, I just picked up a rough Ban Johnson ball. Can someone tell me how to nail down a date range on this? What approx value would you put on it? While we're at it, what era is this box from? (It didn't come with ball, I've had it a while).
Thanks, Ken earlywynnfan5@hotmail.com |

Hi Ken, the ball you've got there is the 1926 model of the Ban Johnson baseballs. The box however is from a 1946 William Harridge ball. The ball you've got was only made 1 year so they are a bit harder to find, I would put the value of your ball based on condition and stamping between $250-$300 in an eBay auction. But you never know, if somebody really wants that year it could go up.
There is a similar ball to your's condition wise on the bay right now, a bit stronger stamping and an older model so I'd value it a little higher, it's at $305.00 right now, maybe it can give you better idea: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290605436487...#ht_500wt_1413
