I've been doing a bit of research on the early Topps cards and also a little on Gum Inc and Bowman. I found this real estate listing from 2008 which shows the Gum Inc plant!
http://www.metroflexspace.com/gum_factory.html Click around a bit, there are some different views on different pages. The address is 4837-49 N. Stenton Ave in Philadelphia, just down the street from # 4865, which is where Bowman was located. The latter building is now mostly demolished though: http://toppsarchives.blogspot.com/20...les-force.html |

That's a really cool building, just think of how many cards were made within those walls! Thanks for sharing.

I used to take the train into Hoboken NJ with my dad in the 1970's and it would pass a building with "Topps" sign on the roof. It was the highlight of my trip. What was that building used for? Might have been in Newark NJ or Jersey City.

I believe it probably was Topps Burgers, not Topps Chewing Gum, whose sign you saw. The Burger Co. was in Elizabeth I think and a huge beef recall a couple of years ago put them out of business. I am not aware of Topps Chewing Gum offices in NJ at all.
