As is the case with many of you, I have seen scores of references to baseball cards' having been invented by tobacco companies in the 1880s. We have all seen examples as well Fine.
My question goes further: is there information available from the 1880s re the cards' production, appearance or distribution (perhaps from the companies' themselves) ? Alternatively, are there comments from collectors of the 1880s about the cards? Many thanks in advance. |
