Are you sure you not thinking of the 1923 German set?

Hi,
Here's a sample of the Bridwell stamp. They are from 1909-1910, listed as German Baseball Stamps in the catalog. Bridwell is New York. Dubuc and Hoblitzell are Cincinnati for sure. Don't know about Elberfeld. Ron |

There are some players that are found on two different teams. It believe that the ones with one name on front are a different series than the ones with the two names on them (although I never paid attention to which one would have been produced first). I have seen a Spike Shannon (double name) with New York with whom he actually played, and then I currently own a Shannon (one name) with Boston, a team he never played for, nor did anyone lese with the last name Shannon. Both versions had the same image (although there were some minor differences between the two).

I stand corrected wow that looks like a cool set I will have to look them up when I can get to my guide. Is it a large set any big names?

Near as I can tell, this is Warren Miller, whose ML career consisted of 85 AB split between the 1909 and 1911 seasons in Washington. Not exactly a high-profile player.

Yes, there are lots of big names in the set. I bought this book where somebody had 'stamped' a bunch of them. Note Cobb, Matty, McGraw, Speaker, Plank and Jennings on this page.

Thanks to all for the info. This leaves only to determine the team for Jean Dubuc.
