I was in Greenville a couple of days ago & stopped by the Joe Jackson museum. It was closed but I snooped around a bit. Note the sidewalk that leads to the back of the house. Footsteps with baseball spikes lead up to a bench, where they seem to pause. Then the footprints continue on in stocking feet. Nice touch.
The base of the statue, a few blocks away, is built of bricks from old Comiskey Park. |

Good stuff and nice shots. It is a shame it was closed when you went by.
Take care, Bob |

Wouldn't Shoeless Joe's footprints be of socks, not spikes? Just saying...
Edited to say - and I just read the OP more slowly. Oops. Last edited by Matt; 05-14-2010 at 05:36 AM. |

Too bad Nash had a part in the moving of the house. In that case, his intent could actually have had a ring of purity to it, but I digress...
I could have fun continuing on in that vein, but will leave it alone. Last edited by BillyCoxDodgers3B; 05-13-2010 at 09:16 PM. |

I saw a show on The Learning Channel or A&E...or one of those reality channels called "Flip this house" that chronicled the rebuilding of this house. Did you know that Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers helped with the rebuild?

i seen that episode, that was back when Josh was still looking for a job in the minors due to his past substance abuse. It is nice to see someone rebound the way that Josh did.

John V,
you should have emailed me and let me know you were going to be in town, I'd taken you to lunch or something. I get the impression Nash promised to "stock " the SJM with memorabilia, but never came through ,as people who have gone through the museum have commented to me that they werent impressed. You can go online and view pics of the inside. |

Jody,
I think that should read, "I get the impression Nash promised to stock the SJM with 'memorabilia'..." ![]() I've heard it's nearly empty on the inside. |
