My wife just mentioned she doesn't like our lamp in the family room!! I have her on the line and don't want to let her go. Any ideas where I could get a baseball theme lamp??
Thanks. Dan |

Dan you should make one. Cut an old bat down and drill a hole in it. Use the guts from that lamp and get a new shade. Find a small pieces of astro turf and glue it to a base piece and screw that to the bat for stability. For about $35 a custom lamp is made and they look neat especially if you get an old bat from and antique store for about $20.

Andrew - I like the idea of making a lamp. I already have the material (notice the old bat next to the case). I will consider it.
Trae - I've done multiple google, ebay, etc. searches. I'm looking for something not so "child/kid" style. More antique looking. Thanks. Joe D - Look great, however, I've never really been a leg man. I've always been a breast man and I don't think my wife will go for that. Thanks again everyone. Dan |

Hey Dan if you decide to go with my idea you may want to cut off the bottom of the replacement lamp and use that as a base for the rest of it. Utilize what you got.

Do you want vintage or modern? I have one from the 1930s (Heifetz) with a figural Pitcher as the centerpiece. It's very rare and desirable (and in remarkable NRMT condition), but I don't have the right place to display it so I could make it available. Please send me an email if you would like me to reply back with photos.
If you post this over on the Memorabilia side, you may get some other good responses as well. There are actually very many baseball themed lamps that are vintage, and can really spice up a display room. Lots also depends on how much you're looking to spend ![]() |

I'll reiterate, Danbury Mint. I've got some awesome lamps from them over the years, including an antique style Yankees lamp that I wouldn't part with for....a lot.

Fra-Geeeel - eh...It must be Italian.
My old man has one of those lamps and puts it in the front bay window every Christmas. It's a neighborhood classic!

I'd love to get one at Danbury Mint. However, they only have a few MLB teams to choose from. If I'm going to get a team logo, it has to be the Red Sox. I have found Red Sox tiffany lamps. Right now I think that's what we will get.
Thanks, Dan |
