Wasn't sure what subforum to post this in, but thought it was very interesting - I definitely see some T-206's at the bottom, just off the end of the pool table:

I remember that photo. Great stuff. I seem to remember there's another photo, a wider shot of the room, that shows that fellow and another guy standing by a pool table. I'll try to find it.
edited to add: Found it. It was simply a cropped photo of the one in the link. Last edited by Anthony S.; 01-20-2010 at 02:25 PM. |

Yeah, I remember that photo as well (from a long ago thread). What I find interesting is that whoever got those cards from tobacco packs, had as much luck pulling common cards and dupes as I did when I was a kid. From the photo David displays, I see a T206 Speaker and McGinnity but no other hall of famers. There is also a T206 Hal Chase (pink) and two T206 Demmitts. The owner of these cards obviously did not make it past WWI.

It also looks like there is a Chase throwing White Hat 3rd up on the right row.

I believe also I recognize the T206's of Bush, O'Brien, Thielman, Hinchman, Paskert, and Easterly up there.

Great photo, thanks for sharing. I didn't see the earlier thread that included this. Any ideas about location?

Hey Jim. Well, I was looking for some good photos from Shorpy's to order prints of to frame and put in my new place - they have very reasonable prices - and when I saw this one, of course I thought of you guys. I'm reading the board again, just don't have too much to offer since I now only have a handful of vintage cards. But the forum(s) looks to be thriving - great job!
