Group of Old Judges Being Sold on Ebay

Someone is selling a group of trimmed, colored Old Judges on Ebay. In the lot descriptions they quote vintagecardprices.com data for "similar" cards. Is this data accurate; the prices seem crazy to me? I have attached one of the descriptions for a Burch card.

"This card comes from an original collection of Old Judges (N172) that were once loved to the point that the borders were neatly trimmed and in some cases a name was neatly stamped on the back or handwriting in pencil of “1887” was written on the back, hence the SGC Authentic grade. Also, you can tell many decades ago, a previous owner had colored in small amounts on the front with a light red pen. This card is extremely rare and we have the following data from vintagecardprices.com to illustrate previous known sales. Free shipping within the U.S.; will ship internationally, email if interested.

Ernest Burch, Brooklyn variation, hands cupped high. No previous sales, extremely rare (leaning pose variation sold for $3,650.00 in SGC 10). "

I believe that is a board member who posted the cards on the B/S/T recently.

There was a recorded price of $3650 for a Burch, but it was an N172 mini, a horizontal pose, and was graded SGC 30.

I just went on ebay and saw his card. He is comparing a common pose to a very rare one.

I think it was the best one in the universe. Not just the Earth, but the whole shootin' match. I always get a chuckle out of "best one in the Universe". They really need JR.Samples to say that in order to get the correct effect.

This N172 Burch is the finest example on the planet...but I did hear a rumor that there may be a better one somewhere on Jupiter.

Dan, that is a fine pair. Great envelope. As rare as the card is, there has to be fewer envelopes that survived. Since you're not the Wright Kay Company, have you thought of returning it to the manager, as directed on the envelope. If you'll mail all of that to me, I'll see that he gets it.

WOW! You know ALL the Presbyterians? He was a Presbyterian minister many years after his days in baseball were over.

And you're right that the envelope is quite rare...it's not the "Only one on earth", but it's only the second one I've ever seen.
