Help w/this catchers/umpires mask?

Hey guys...I picked this mask up today at a nearby antiques mall. I love the shape of the cage...and the softness of the leather...and it fits my head like a glove. Can anyone tell me if this is a catchers/umpires mask and the approximate age? Any help is appreciated.
