I would like to get some feedback about Pro Grading. I bought some Pro Grading cards and all of them were trimmed. I sent them back! I see that there are some auctions being run on ebay right now that all the cards are graded by Pro Grading. You can see even from the pictures that the cards are trimmed and still people are bidding high on them. Let me know what you think about this company? Is it ture that they trim most all there cards? Thanks!

Pro grading is a scam. Their cards are virtually worthless.

If there is a Pro card you must bid on, for whatever your reason might be, bid on it as if it is authentic only.

Had a thread about this a bit back in regards to some T205's. It is the same seller and they are again selling 2 T205's of Cobb and Young and both are definitally trimmed. They also were told about this by me and said that the card was graded by a third party grader and that if anything was wrong they would not have graded it. I asked why not use PSA, SGC, or GAI? Cost to much money
![]() They also had a nice selection of Mantle cards. Seems they are only selling HOF'ers. My advice is to just stay far away and watch from a distance ![]() |

When collectors graded their own cards.
![]() The only difference is ..... The graders get paid for it. ![]() |

The cards are usually trimmed but authentic. The positive is they are usually authentic.
Simple common sense says that if a seller thinks that T206 Cobb really was Mint, it would be in an SGC or PSA holder. Despite any contrary tales that may be told at eBay or Craig's List, the seller who is willing to throw away $30,000 in sales price to save $10 in grading fees doesn't exist and never has. Thanks to all for your feedback! Andrew you hit on the one I was talking about. I asked about a card that they had and would they please measure it for me and of course they didn`t so that made me wonder right there. Thanks again to all! Marc

I consider all PRO card "A" authentic due to trimming. It's a shame some poeple still hand cut perfectly good cards!
This Cobb was graded an SGC20 before it was sent off to PRO for an upgraded. Obviously trimmed on the left hand side, in my opinion... ![]() ![]() |

Don't waste your time with PRO-what a joke.Brad-was this Cobb yours?I would never have them crack a card out of an SGC holder with a precise grade to put it in a PRO holder for a "fake" higher grade. And who trimmed the Cobb?Does PRO trim the cards they get(which belong to the submiter)and then give them a higher grade?Or does the owner of the card trim them, and PRO just gives them a higher grade?Either way, what a shame.SAY NO TO PRO!!!

Actually the Cobb was originally sold RAW on ebay to a bored member a while back. I keep close tabs on all Maples so this is the reason why I'm pretty sure the card was trimmed!!!
Here's the RAW pic from ebay: ![]() |

Learn to grade your own cards.
Over the period of time, all of the graders have proven to make mistakes ala former collectors ... and when they made them ... they were louder. ![]() So if you're a collector, and you want to save yourself some money ... don't be lazy ... learn to grade your own. If you feel better by having the card entombed, put them in your own holder. However, if you're a flipper ... get them slabbed by some one. It's more presentable for the Market. ![]() You'll always be better of, by learning how to grade your own. |

Agreed......................... buying PRO is not usually a good choice. i was fortunate and had a PRO 7.5 cross to an SGC 60, i was afraid it was trimmed. I would not press my luck again.

After seeing the Raw pic.....The SGC scan sure looks photoshopped....
Low grade PRO cards are a good buy if you know your cards. High grade = trimmed Once picked up a Tango card for 1/2 of what it should have sold for, it crossed over. 10 years ago noncollectors wanting to get a card graded before auctioning it would sometimes choose PRO (over PSA/SGC) not knowing better.
