I recent submission of some raw cards new and old left me dumbfounded at this one and the grade it actually got. I am asking you guys/gals what you think the accurate grade would be in your opinion.
I have darkened the back to enhance it for viewing. Alright the grade on the card was a SGC 50/4 My dumbfounded expression was that the only flaw on this card is the wrinkle below the tigers head. It comes from the edge of the card to the bat. Other than a chip on the border and the corners having chipping that is it. The registration on the cards back is great and very readable. I darkened the back to show the card better in detail. I thought a definite shoe in for a 5 but WOW. This has to be the highest graded 4 ever IMO. Thanks to all who guessed. Bama the card is not for sale at this time but I do have some extra T205's on the B/S/T for sale if interested. Last edited by Pup6913; 11-17-2009 at 02:20 PM. |

Andrew,
I am sure I am going to take a swing and a miss here but regardless of the grade, this is one very nice looking card. Hard to see tiny wrinkles from a scan but I will say an SGC 70/5.5 (Ex+) if there is not a microscopic flaw. But I am guessing you were dinged down lower then this. T-205's can cause the greatest angst over grading. I have seen some realy nice cards in 40,50 holders and then others in higher holders that look like crap. Still a great looking card. |

I'll guess SGC50, maybe from a mark or two on the back and someone being super technical ?

My guess would be a SGC 60, can't see it graded any lower. But I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be a SGC 40. SGC can be pretty tough on cards!!

Since you darkened the photo of the back, I suspect the print quality is weak. That's where they got you...SGC 60

Would venture a 50 due to preceived wrinkle below tiger and inconsistencies on reverse. It looks much better to me, above is based on your amzement.

I am not tring to hijack the thread, but am including the one and only t205 that I own.It is graded SGC 50,and as you can see,the corners on my card are far more worn.Your card looks way nicer-please tell us the grade!!!

...that the SGC 50 that inspired this post tells us by grade alone that there must be a spider wrinkle that is hard to see in a scan; and the SGC 50 that is immediately above this post has absolutely no spider wrinkles, because the corners are pretty well worn.

Andrew, Thats a fair grade. But c'mon man... I skipped my 1300hrs siesta for this? *yawn* This thread would have been more exciting for the rest of us, if there was a hidden, major flaw.
