I was just wondering if there is a particular brand of eraser that works better than others when removing pencil marks from the backs of cards. The backs are blank and the marks are fairly light, but I don't want to damage them while erasing.

I have used Mars Plastic Erasers for years. They work like a charm and crumble very easily. Always test on something else and no matter what you use remember to always be gentle. Also, some of the oil based pencil marks from the early years just won't come off...I just leave them alone...

First a disclaimer, I have never removed pencil marks from a card but I am an artist ( stayed at a Holiday in to!) and my two choices if i were to try would be a grey kneaded eraser that picks up pencil just by applying pressure without the back and forth that could damage the card or an eraser that is white called Magic Rub it has excellent pick while at the same time not so abbrasive.
Update. did a little experimenting and the gray eraser is a bit aggressive. Last edited by mkdltn; 05-07-2009 at 03:06 PM. |
