I picked up a couple boxing cards of John Sullivan recently. I now own 2 and I'm pretty excited about it. I am wondering if anyone can shed some light as to who would be the Cobb or Wagner of boxing during the late 1800's or early 1900's? Would Sullivan be at the top of most people's list as one of the greats? What issues are the most scarce and sought after? What would you buy if you were looking for oddball or rarities in boxing cards? Thank you in advance for your knowledge, Dan |

Welcome to the world of boxing cards. I made the switch from Baseball to Boxing over the past year and a half. I can't say that I'm excited about the competition, and in Chicago no less! |

Jim Jeffries, Benny Leonard, Gene Tunney, Sugar Ray Robinson, Jake La Motta, Rocky Graziano (well it is the most expensive boxing card after all...). |

If you want to pursue a single player collection he would be the most comprehensive since he has a wide variety of domestic and foreign issues from the 1920s up. There are dozens of Exhibit cards, for example. |
