First of all.....did you know that the Philadelphia Phillies are the longest continuous franchise in Baseball history. The Phillies originated in 1893 (initially called the Quakers).

During these 130 years, the Phillies played in only four World Series. They lost their first two W.S. to the Red Sox (1915), and the Yankees (1950).

In 1980, the Phillies finally won the W.S. by beating the Kansas City Royals. In 2008 they won the W.S. by beating the Tampa Bay Rays.

My mathematical mind tells me that the magic # to their success is the number "8". At this rate their next W.S. victory will be in 2028
