Jeff LichtmanLeon's point is well-taken: when using the term "rookie card" one is not suggesting that it is the card reflecting the player's rookie year in baseball; instead, "rookie card" means literally that: a first card of the player, even if it's a year or two or ten past the player's entry into the major leagues. And Leon, of course you had to remind me of the one Cobb postcard I don't own!
