They mentioned that the boys used to collect tobacco tags before the baseball cards were introduced. I had never heard of this area of collecting. Apparently, they were first introduced in the United States in the mid-1800s. They were small metal discs used to label and seal tobacco tins from the mid-to-late 19th and early 20th centuries. Here's a picture. I guess I just learned something new about something old.
