Richard...This last winter I bought an original...I've yet to complete a feature I have planned...but I started some research back in early March...here's some correspondence I had with Brown University that may help you...

Dear Mr. Hendricks,

I have copied the University Archives on this e-mail. They will respond to your query.

Hello...I was told that around 1965 Brown made reproduction posters of the 1916 Tournament of Roses football game poster played between Brown and Univ. Washington...May I please confirm if that is true or not? If so how many were made? And are they marked in anyway so they can be distinguished from an original?
Thanks -Carlton Hendricks

Dear Mr. Hendricks,
As far as I can tell, on the original, in the lower right hand corner, it says "Western Lithograph Company, Los Angeles, California", wheres on the copy it does not.

On the copy it says "Printed by National Bickford Foremost" on the lower right hand corner, and "Brown University Archives/Brown Alumni Monthly" on the lower left hand corner. Also, the original from which the reproductions were printed has a tear in it, which appears, faintly, in the reproduction.

I have not been able to find the date of the reproduction. 1965 sounds about right though, since 1966 was the fiftieth anniversary of the game.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Raymond Butti
