Hi, I am the Postmaster in a small city in Wisconsin, and it is nice to hear good things being said about the Post Office. However, you are correct, our tracking system does suck. Normally we can only track the scans at the originating Post Office, and and at the delivery point. The next big thing at USPS will be "transparency" (hope I spelled that correctly), or "surface visibility", which means that we will be able to track a package at several different points along the line of travel of the package. This will eliminate many problems, along with reducing the number of lost and missent parcels.

I will keep you posted of any updates.
