As for Tim McCarver, I actually have trouble remebering what he sounds like. I've been so appalled by the heavy-handed and over-the-top production of modern televised baseball games in recent years that I simply turn the sound off and play music. It's hard enough watching all the stupid graphic gimmicks that constantly flash across the tv screen. That last thing I want to hear is explosions, hip-hop music and all that nonsense. Just give me the roar of the crowd, an old-time organist and the voice of Vin Scully. Now that's baseball ...
