Bob LemkeI'd like to do a 1956-Topps style card of St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Charlie Peete, who was killed in a plane crash on his way to winter ball in Venezuela in late 1956. He was the first, and may still be the only, major leaguer to die in a commercial airliner crash.
He was with Portsmouth in 1953, Lynchburg in 1954, Rochester and Omaha in 1955 and Omaha in 1956. I know he appears in the 1956 Omaha comb-bound "Picture-Pak" booklet, as shown in the Standard Catalog. I'd like to get a 300 dpi scan. Black-and-white is no problem, as I can do a reasonable job of colorizing.
