Well, just check Rundgren out a bit more, you may be surprised. And personally don't know this for certain, but understand on his early solo albums at least, they were true solo albums. Supposedly he produced the albums himself, played all the instruments, and sang every single part. If you listen to many of his songs, you can hear how complex they are. And if he truly did them entirely himself, you can only wonder how many different tracks he must have recorded and put down for some of them.
