I think what you are saying regarding the Liberty Valance movie may be very true. And, that would have been a real shame, because with Jimmy Stewart,
John Wayne, and Lee Marvin, this movie is one of the best westerns.
Furthermore, no Vertigo, no Rear Window, no The Spriit of St. Louis, no Winchester '73, etc., etc. The Jimmy Stewart Museum in Indiana, Pennsylvania is
very informative of how Jimmy Stewart was very disappointed with Hollywood, and his acting career after he completed his Air Force tour during WWII.
Fortunately, for Jimmy and us, the success of The Stratton Story movie turned that all around in 1949.
